July 28 - August 2 Bear Lake
The drive out of Colorado was beautiful. What an epic place! Now for Bear Lake, literally one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Bear Lake is about 2.5 hours North or Salt Lake, on the Utah / Idaho boarder. We found it because our family Summers there, and it makes me wonder about all the other secret Gems out there waiting for us. We stayed on the west side, which is the (slightly) developed side, in Garden City. Bear Lake Marina KOA Holiday https://koa.com/campgrounds/bear-lake/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gbp
Bear Lake KOA Marina Holiday was perfect. It was in a safe perfect location, the tent sites were perfect, surrounded by little fences and they had so much privacy, and they had so many RV site options, even ones with little yards and hot tubs. There was also a great loop for walking, biking and running. This KOA is located only 4 miles away from the Marina where you can rent everything from boats to jet skis. to paddle boards, and right next door to a grocery store and Ace Hardware. Also walking distance to Garden City, so that you can Wake, Lake, Shake your vacation away!
Our personal top finds in Garden City for food? Zips for burgers, fries and summers favorite shakes, and LaBeau for the actual OG (and in my opinion BEST) raspberry shakes! (or double raspberry with chocolate shavings if you want to get extra fancy, and you should!
Zips - A MUST. https://www.zipzbearlake.com/

BEAR LAKE FUN boat rentals https://bearlakefun.com/
Our favorite hidden gem sit down Mexican Restaurant Cafe Sabor https://www.cafesabor.com/
There are a few other adorable restaurants, shops and shake shacks along this small stretch of town that are all worth stopping at and enjoying.
Our family came and visited us for a few days as well, and the campground and boat rental worked out so perfectly for our group! You could also take a right our of the campground and drive 8-9 minutes, and there were a few public water access places that you could park for free at, and set up a cozy spot to hang and swim. The water at bear lake is like nothing I have ever seen!! The best.
There is also a beach at the top of bear lake in Idaho that we didn't make it to, called North Beach, its on our list for next time.
KEEP SCROLLING FOR MORE AND COME BACK FOR FULL 2025 TRIP SOON! work in progress xoxo :)
